The name "Navis" itself means "ship" in Latin, a fitting choice considering the hotel's owner, Mr. Krunoslav Kapetanovic, has a surname derived from the word "captain" in Croatian. This nautical theme was the guiding star for Dilberovic's design and branding direction.
The hotel's location in Preluk Bay, the northernmost point where the Adriatic Sea penetrates the Croatian coast, added another layer to the design narrative. The concept of "North" became a key element in the branding, influencing the use of compasses, coordinates, and GPS-like arrows in the design. This clever integration of location and theme sets Hotel Navis apart from other luxury accommodations.
Dilberovic's design process involved a range of techniques including hot foil printing, foil cutting, alubond printing, and cutouts. The result is a unique visual identity that captures the essence of the hotel's nautical theme and luxurious offerings. The design's strength lies in its ability to combine various elements into a cohesive identity, a challenge that Dilberovic successfully overcame.
The project, which spanned six months, was a collaborative effort. Tomislav Moze contributed his photography skills, capturing the hotel's beauty and the effectiveness of the branding.
